SAN DIEGO, Calif. — September 8, 2026 — The FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G brings Sony’s first full-frame E-mount fisheye zoom to photographers and filmmakers, offering an 8–14mm range that covers everything from full-frame circular fisheye at the wide end to a natural diagonal fisheye at 14 mm. The lens is intended for stills, movie work and professional VR capture where expressive wide-angle perspective and compact size matter.
The FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G (SEL814G) is designed around a compact optical formula using ED and aspherical elements to control chromatic aberration and preserve high resolution across the extreme field of view. It features a constant f/3.5 aperture through the zoom range, a 0.15 m minimum focus distance, and a lightweight chassis at approximately 314 g.

The lens covers a 180° angle of view at the wide end and offers a continuous shift from circular to diagonal fisheye projection as you zoom from 8–14 mm. Optical corrections including four ED elements and three aspherical elements help deliver clean detail with minimal color fringing, while a circular 7-blade aperture supports smooth highlight rendering.
Autofocus is driven by a linear motor for fast, accurate and quiet operation suitable for both stills and movies. Focus breathing has been reduced for steadier framing during motion, and Linear Response MF provides intuitive manual-focus control when precision is required.

The SEL814G’s compact dimensions (Φ63.1 mm × 82.8 mm) and modest 314 g weight make it well suited to handheld shooting, gimbals, and dual‑camera VR rigs where size and balance are essential. Independent focus, zoom and iris rings plus internal zooming maintain balance across the range, and a rear filter holder accepts standard sheet filters for production workflows.
